![]() The WFC algorithm’s tiled model variant occupies each slot in the grid with a module. The WFC algorithm initializes a grid, where each cell in the grid will be defined as a slot. In this report, the focus will entirely be on the tiled model. WFC can be implemented with two different models, the tiled model and the overlapping model. ![]() The same idea is the backbone of the procedural algorithm. As soon as the particle is observed, the possibilities disappear and the wave function collapses. In quantum physics, wave function collapse is the idea that the unobserved state of a particle can be anything. It is a constraint-based procedural algorithm that is inspired and named after the concept wave function collapse from quantum physics. WFC is an algorithm developed by Maxim Gumin as a texture synthesis method based on simple configuration or sample images. You can see the comparison here and view the source code here. Sidenote: Paul Merrell developed Model Synthesis Algorithm in 2007 which generates similar results as WFC. Wave Function Collapse Algorithm / Model Synthesis Algorithm This project studies Wave Function Collapse (WFC), a constraint-based algorithm for Procedural Content Generation(PDG), and implements it in Houdini, a procedural content creation tool to create a 3D content generator that outputs diverse prototypes which could potentially be used in the design and entertainment industry. Per Google’s original timeline, the deadline looked to be December 31, 2020, but several additional weeks were provided. After this date, there will be no way to recover it. This includes your music library with any uploads, purchases and anything you’ve added from Google Play Music. On February 24, 2021, we will delete all of your Google Play Music data. It follows other parts of Play Music - desktop Music Manager app, Play Music store, and Assistant speaker integration - gradually being deprecated Play Music transfer deadlineīack in August, Google said that the ability to download or transfer your Play Music library would be available for a short while after the app shuts down. ![]() This will allow you to store audio locally or switch to another music app. You can choose to receive the download link via email for local storage, or have it saved to Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, or Box. Playlists, radio stations, and track information will be provided in CSV format, while your previous uploads and Google Play purchases will be available as MP3 files. However, as of this morning, you can no longer use Google Takeout to download uploaded songs in Play Music or access any other historical data. The company did take /music/listen offline and redirect to YouTube Music, but users could visit /settings/takeout/custom/play_music directly to start the process. Update 3/17: While the official last day to download your Play Music library was three weeks ago, Google quietly kept the export option available. Before February 24th, transfer your Play Music library to the replacement YouTube service, or download using Google Takeout. It marked the biggest milestone in the transition to YouTube Music, but there is one last step. either way it needs to be easier to start back where you left off.At the start of December, the Google Play Music website and mobile apps officially stopped working for all users worldwide. someone mentioned the audio manager is still in beta, if thats true then maybe its a kink/glitch they're working on. I'm not exactly sure why the audio manager stopped uploading in the middle of the night.i also have no idea why its so difficult to get it to start uploading from where it left off. was taking forever and would prob still be doing so now and wouldnt even be continuing to upload songs. then it started up scanning my music i guess checking the files that were already uploaded which is roughly 7,500. ![]() not sure why when i stop messing around on my computer all of a sudden it can only up a few hundred more songs in 8 hrs while i sleep)Īs i mentioned earlier, i have had to log out, well i logged out again today, that did nothing, so then i went to "change the folder location where my music is" which i really didnt, just reselected the folder where my music is. (EDIT: let me add, it would run just fine and upload at a reasonable pace through the day. also it had stopped uploading and i had and still have no idea how to get it to restart from where it left off. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Android Central Forumstoo late already gave up.i actually had it running for 2 days overnight.both times i woke up in the morning and it had only added like 200-300 more songs after 7-8 hrs. I've been really happy with the service ever since. I checked in two days later, and everything was uploaded and properly organized. I could tell, though, that it was making progress. When I did it last month, I wasn't just frustrated with the pace, I was sure it was doing it wrong! I would get songs that were not with their albums, missing album artwork, albums downloading in pieces. ![]() An offbeat musical number here, a crazy boss battle against conjoined twins there and if you’re hooked into all of the madness on display, you’ll be grinning away like Renfield chomping down of freshly caught flies in his padded cell. In solo or co-op play, pay close enough attention to the cut scenes and background details and the plot will have you falling off the couch laughing as you get closer to Little Boy Tailor’s trail. other than some of the trickier jumps and boss battles, there will more likely than not be any yelling at them for “sucking” hard or messing up your game. Invite a non-gaming friend or someone who’s interested in FF to drop by and play the game in co-op and within seconds, they’re running, jumping and kicking polygon puppet ass along with you. Hell, the fact that there’s NO need to spend a half hour figuring out what button presses do what and how fast or slow you need to do them makes the game all the more accessible. That particular critical straw man is a stupid reviewer trick that needs to be shut down, as it’s keeping a LOT of people from enjoying games more. Sure, it’s all too easy to whip out attacks in the game, but why shouldn’t it be? “Innovation” doesn’t need to be part of every game’s controls, folks. You move with the left stick and attack with the right stick, which works extremely well with not too much of a learning curve (unless you’re somehow resistant to using the right stick for pulling off moves). Colorful visuals and aside, the M-rated content here is absolutely NOT for the wee ones in the family and the game never pretends it’s even close to “family friendly.”Ĭombat is straight up arcade style fun, as in nicely simple enough so anyone can pick up and play the game without worrying about arcane combos or busting up a controller out of sheer frustration. Gameplay is a mash-up of plenty of chase ‘n chop action and classic platforming elements familiar since the days of Mario and Sonic. The four characters set out to get their stories back and anyone in their way is fair game for whatever weapons they can get their hot little hands on. The four main characters, all familiar fairy tale legends, have had their stories stolen by Little Boy Tailor, a scarred up crazy that wants their tales for his own superstar story. The plot is a total hoot, mixing in gobs of violence with classic fairy tale stereotypes and yanks you right in from the opening movie. The game takes the Unreal 3 engine places it’s never been before, instantly impressing with some of the most fantastically stylized visuals you’ll see to date. However, with up to three friends, the game is a complete blast to play – provided everyone’s platforming skills are up to the game’s deathtraps and occasionally brutal boss battles. As a single-player arcade-style experience, it’s supremely hysterical, but can feel a bit lonely after a few hours. Although the game probably isn’t going to impress those jaded players looking for total perfection and “innovation” seeping out of every corner, it’s got more than enough style to keep those who love the sub-genre playing ’til the cows come home. Fairytale Fights packs in its entire running time with tons of humor plus more gallons of blood and severed limbs than you’d find in certain zombie-killing franchises. That is, provided your dreams are candy-colored and packed with mutated puppets dishing out damage on an epic, nasty scale. The game’s humour shows through during the cut-scenes but is diminished by the repetition that follows, unfortunately. After a long development cycle it’s finally here, it’s pretty darn bloody and it’s a hack ‘n slash fan’s dream game. The boss battles do go on, and you’ll find yourself getting bored of it by mid-battle most times. Problem is this took much longer than it should have and was a fairly monotonous task. ![]() I was also rather disappointed with my first boss encounter – a rather large beaver, which had to be killed. Sloppy attack mechanics aren’t good in a game about killing. ![]() Block has its own button, as does jump, but to attack, you push the right analogue stick in the desired direction and the attack should be focused that way problem is, you’ll often-time find yourself slashing away at nothing while you yourself get butchered. There was blood pouring everywhere, and I was able to slide around in it and kill lumberjacks with nothing but a carrot as a weapon – however, the thrill did wear off when I started to see some of the games more pressing problems.Īs a hack’n’slash, all you need is an attack button, block button and maybe a jump button – Fairytale Fights has two out of three. ![]() Updated On Friday, February 25, 2022, to html5 and its HTTPS version of the game. The boxplots show xgboost has the edge although the gbm has a tighter distribution. The final section of code shows how to caret can be used to compare the two models using the bootstrap samples that were created in the process of constructing the two models. The following plot shows how the ROC measure behaves with increasing tree depth for the two different values of the shrinkage parameter. Next, a similar process for xgboost computes the AUC to be 0.8857, a fair improvement. The AUC for gbm was computed to be 0.8731. The Task Manager on my Windows 10 laptop shows all four cores maxed out at 100%.Īfter model fitting, predictions on the test data are computed and an ROC curve is drawn in the usual way. Notice that all of this happens in parallel. Then train() function does the actual training and fitting of the model. The analysis presented here is far from the last word on comparing these models, but it does show how one might go about setting up a serious comparison using caret's functions to sweep through parameter space using parallel programming, and then used synchronized bootstrap samples to make a detailed comparison.Īfter reading in the data and dividing it into training and test data sets, caret's trainControl() and id() functions are used to set up to train the gbm model on all of the combinations of represented in the data frame built by id(). The code below compares gbm with xgboost using the segmentationData set that comes with caret. All on its own, the table is an impressive testament to the utility and scope of the R language as data science tool.įor the past year or so xgboost, the extreme gradient boosting algorithm, has been getting a lot of attention. In a previous post we looked at all-relevant feature selection using the Boruta package while in this post we consider the same (artificial, toy) examples using the caret package. ![]() Feature selection is an important step for practical commercial data mining which is often characterised by data sets with far too many variables for model building. Let’s assume all other factors(term frequency, average document length,…) are a tie, Document Frequency will be the discriminant in deciding the best field match for each candidate document that needs to be ranked.Īnd currently, it works the opposite a user would intuitively expect: comics issues where batman was the villain of the story will sky-rocket to the top. using machine learning principles, fuzzy matching, and more. New search capabilities: Solr 3.4 includes improved query support, including the ability to sort by function queries, as well as improved analysis and new input. So the score of each document will be the highest score among the potential heroes:batman match and the potential villains:batman match. It gathered around 600 Lucene and Solr enthusiasts from 26 countries, including many of the. What does currently affect which field scores best? You should prefer this strategy if generally, you prefer documents that match more query terms to be favored.ĭoes this mean that having more terms will always win over fewer terms? NO, not necessarilyīecause a match of one field in a super rare field, may still dominate because there’s no coord factor anymore Sow=true each term contributes to the score once (if it matches twice, the field that scores best is taken) if your text analysis produces from the input text a different amount of tokens per field, the difference kicks in: if you want documents containing more query terms(not necessarily in the same field) to score generally higher you should use sow=true.createQuery () Copy In step 3, we'll wrap the Lucene query into a Hibernate query:. If your text analysis produces for all query fields, the exact same amount of tokens, you won’t see any difference in setting sow=true or sow=false In step 2, we will create a Lucene query via the Hibernate query DSL: . The default Solr query syntax used to search an index uses a superset of the Lucene query syntax. The following considerations assume the tie parameter is set to the default 0.įurther considerations on the topic follow. onField("productName").Given the evident advantages of setting sow=false, why does this parameter exists? i.e. onField("description").sentence("face id") .FuzzyQuery public class FuzzyQuery extends MultiTermQuery Implements the fuzzy search query. onField("productName").matching("apple") However, if both queries match, the match will have a higher relevance compared to if only one query matches: Query combinedQuery = queryBuilder ![]() However, the names are different to emphasize that they also have an impact on the relevance.įor example, a SHOULD between two queries is similar to boolean OR: if one of the two queries has a match, this match will be returned.
